Our longest resident. We don’t know how no one has fallen for Esme yet.
Backstory: Esme littermates all died from distemper, and she was the sole survivor. She was bullied by other dogs in a large group home setting, causing anxiety and fear-based behaviors. We was identified by a canine behavioralist as a dog needing help, and we pulled her into our network.
Basics: 3-4yrs old, 35lb female. No kids, no cats, requires another dog in the home for play and companionship.
Personality: Athletic, goofy, playful. Leans timid, nervous with new people. Semi-velcro dog who loves gentle attention and affection.
Behavior: Moderately leash reactive to other dogs and fast moving humans (runners, bikers) but successful with management. Seeking a quiet, active home, a rural setting makes her reactivity nearly non-existent.
She’s been with us for almost 2 years and has watched over 30 other dogs get adopted while she waits. She is a playful, goofy, cuddly, delightful dog, adventure buddy, and tender little soul. We know her forever is out there, and she cannot wait to meet you.
