Adoption Process

We know adoption applications can feel emotionally charged and even judgmental. We focus on intentions, values, and alignment between dogs and humans. Our goal is transparency, communication, and connection. We hope you don’t feel intimidated or deterred by any questions and welcome explanations and conversation.

Adoption is a lifelong commitment for them, and a longterm commitment for you. We want to ensure everyone in the household is comfortable, happy, and has their needs met.

After the application, we will schedule a phone call to chat a bit and set up a meet and greet. For more timid or anxious dogs, we may ask for 2-3 meetings before they go home for home trial. This is for their comfort and to set up a successful transition. We always do a 2-3 week home trial before making anything official, so you have an opportunity to really live your life and see how the new dog fits into it.

Adoption fees are $300-500 sliding scale. Some dogs may have a sponsored adoption fee.
